- I think it is also important to celebrate Ray´s life!

He did live a full life and is most certain one of the most influential keyboardplayer in the last 50 years.

To this day I remember exactly when and where I first heard his beautiful sound. It was Light My Fire playing,  I just froze and ran to the radio and put my ear to it, trying to grasp THE SOUND.

- Ray´s organ sound got me hooked to The Doors. And the fact that the bass in concerts was handled by Ray´s left hand is TOO much to understand.

That alone places him at the front table in the rock pantheon. Forever!

For Ray, less is more.

He always has great taste in the arranging of his playing, whether it is an organ, an electric piano or piano.

My favourite Manzarek playing is Yes, The River Knows. The piano is orchestrated in such a hush and quiet manner, that it evaporates like mist on a morning field. Beautiful, but not there!

His pièce de résistance will always be his recording of Carl Orff´s Carmina Burana. It is THE rock-opera set in rock and roll.

And in many ways the successor to The Celebration of The Lizard.

Ray tells in his book, that his father wanted the haunting song Olim Lacus Colueram- Once I swam the waters, played at his funeral.

I will be sure to play that piece in the time to come and think of Ray -

I told you before I don't care that I wasn't invited to the new forum.  I don't want to talk to other Doors fans.  Some are just plain old assholes, so why do I want to waste my time.  Even if I was invited I wouldn't sign up.

Ok, fine w/ me!- Just stop talking about the new forum, then.

It is a cool place w/ lots of new information, though.

I'm guessing he likes the attention too!  Negative or positive.  It's too bad, because he seems like he might be able to add to the mix.

My mother is a few years older than you, and with age comes wisdom and experiences liked you said.  I enjoy the stories of the past.  She went to see Elvis in the 50's, to me that's the coolest thing ever!

Ever since you weren´t invited to the new forum, you have become very hostile. As I said, it is not my fault your posts weren´t deemed sufficiently interesting.

And I think we should respect these women born 70 years ago, who knew Jim. Maybe not so much, as they would like others to think.

Beauty fades and so does memory. But, so what!

Nobody believes that the elderly women, who post here, were remotely acquianted with Jim.

They invade all topics. Let them, I say. They should be able to post w/ they want. They are over 70 years old, remember that.
