About Me
Hi, I'm Adrienne, 34 y/o from Boston, MA. I initially joined this forum 10+ years ago under the screen name whiskeygal_78. Then I lost my password. Over the years I've had numerous usernames/passwords that I've also forgotten. Then I gave up and stopped coming to this forum. Until today! Nope, still didn't remember my usernames/passwords I just rejoined under a new username. And I won't forget them this time LOL! Anyway during the interim I had gastric bypass surgery 10/12/10 and I lost 200+lbs (still working on losing the last +100lbs), I quit my job, I moved to Brattleboro VT to be with my fiance and then we got married 10/31/11! In that order! This past September my husband and I packed up a U-Haul and drove 3,000 miles across the USA and moved to Portland, OR! Someday I'd like to be a writer. I've done a few interviews for The Doors Collectors Magazine check them out here: http://www.doors.com. I also did some articles for helium.com check them out here: http://www.helium.co...3/show_articles I'm a huge fan of The Doors...So if we were old friends way back when or if you just want to say hi...don't be a stranger! Let's get together one more time!

Exactly Catherine...my thoughts are with Dorothy, Pablo and his wife and children and extended family...I can't stop thinking about it...it is so so so sad...

Janet are you insinuating that Ray's family knew about his cancer?

john densmore thought the use of the name "the doors of the 21st century" was misleading. he wasn't in the band, and neither was jim morrison. his contention was that this band wasn't "the doors". john densmore or jim morrison's estate never said that the new band could not play doors music. they were just opposed to the use of the name "the doors" and that the fact that on posters, "of the 21st century" was in a smaller point size and not obvious -- so, "the doors" was very prominent and, in the same logo type as the original band logo, and the "of the 21st century" was really small.
there was a countersuit for 40 million dollars, brought by ray and robbie.
i don't think the book was harsh, it was recounting the trial. i think though, that the timing of the release of this book was unfortunate, but, no one could have known.
there was also a very heartfelt letter to ray and robby at the end.
my opinion is that john densmore stood up for what he thought was right. jim's family agreed.

Why was Ray in Germany? For medical treatment? Or was he touring? Also, I don't know how I feel about the face that John released a statement around the same time as Robby did and in all of the news media all I seem to see is Robby's statement. WTF? It's like once again the media is dragging John through the coals. Can't everyone just realize Ray is dead and John and Robby will probably reconcile? And eventually I think Ray would've come around, too. John was extending an olive branch to them both, especially Ray. They were all brothers. I wasn't aware of Ray's cancer and no one on this forum seemed to be aware of it, either. It blew me away. My grandfather found out he had lung cancer on thanksgiving and was dead by Christmas. I don't think you have a lot of time when that stuff hits you...and it may have been inoperable just like my grandfather's lung cancer was.

I think...as awful as this news is...that maybe Robby & John could reconcile...wouldn't that be amazing? Jim & Ray smiling from the great beyond...still can't stop thinking about it...
