I saw Ray/Roy in Bakersfield. What a great show! Roy played slide like no-one I have seen (quick and nimble) and Ray was very gracious with the fans after the show. As an added treat Rick, Ray's brother played guitar with them for about half the numbers. The interaction between Ray and Rick was great. It must of have a gas to see them as Rick and the Ravens.
Plus it was a small venue... Ray seemed to be really enjoying himself... especially when his brother was up on stage with him.

Hi HR ---- My gut feeling is that the Matrix was purchased due to pending litigation and may not see the light of day... but on the bright side
I have tickets for the Manzarek-Rogers Band playing in Bakes 4000 ft below me. Ray actually is in good voice - age has served that instrument well adding a little oak to what used to be a tad shrill. Dave are you going to be there?

Hey Dave - good to hear from you. Hope that you are enjoying sunny southern cal.
This is just a suggestion for the London Fog since it is so short. Market it with the Matrix tapes. "The Matrix - Complete Shows - Sourced from the orginal tapes + a bonus CD of the earliest live recording of the Doors at the infamous London Fog." Eh... I am in algorythms not marketing so what do I know - But the logic flows.
Kindest regards - Glen
Stupid Girl - You are a curious young lady - probably not stupid in the least.

I think that a restored "Feast of Friends" would have peaked more interest.

The vast majority of Doors fans are not hardcore fans. The hardcore fans or super fans are a very small minority. The more casual fans are far more likely to buy a mainstream DVD/Blu-Ray release than they are releases such as the Matrix and the Fog.
No, you don't own the rest on DVD. You don't own The
Wasp which is not dubbed, and you don't own the complete
Spanish Caravan which is not dubbed.

The height of "The Doors" post-71 popularity was probably when Oliver Stone's film came out. John said that he always gave 1/4 of his record profits to charity but after the film it was harder because it was such a great sum. I think that "The Doors" popularity has waned since then. Board interest has dissipated. I think that the general fan base has also shrunk. Management went after new blood. Old blood has the money and is willing to part with it. They most likely have the old HB abet without the WASP and complete Spanish Caravan (my bad). My question is is that enough to make a purchase? Could the product have been enhanced to be more marketable to both casual and HC fans?
I really liked the WYS bio but have you seen the Townes Van Zandt bio "Be Here to Love Me" - BRILLIANT and with a much smaller fan base - You might say that to be a Townes Van Zandt fan you have to be hardcore.
IMHO this release could have been better with the AUD as bonus material. Just like the Matrix could've been better.
Cheers - Glen
