Yeah, I realized that the HILY vocals were from the studio. I think the Doors camp made the right move here. If they had left that song as-is casual fans (not hardcore fans like us) would complain about something being wrong with their discs. Most people wouldn't know or care about the recording problems with the master tapes. The only way to have a complete, high quality version of this show was to "fly in" the missing vocals from other sources.
I'm just glad they used the original vocals from Light My Fire. Hopefully they used the original vocals wherever possible.

Hooray for original vocals!! Hopefully there are very few or no guitar overdubs.

Just wanted to bump this up and make a suggestion. We all know that some of Jim's vocals are missing from the master tapes and parts of his performance were replaced with vocals from other shows that were deemed to be "better." Also, I believe Robby re-recorded some of his guitar parts. I understand the band wants to present the best product for a mass audience. However, lots of serious fans (like me) want to hear as much of the complete show as it happened in 1968. So, I had an idea (not sure if it's an original idea). Why not have the edited, re-recorded version on the main audio track of the DVD/Blu-Ray and then have the original, unedited audio on a separate track or even have it as an "Easter egg" that only super fans would want to hear and look for? That way everyone wins. Could that be done?
