The other day when I googled around a bit I found this page with some quotes of Jim. You´ll probably know most of them but it gave me the idea to find out if anything Jim said or wrote (poems or lines of his lyrics) have influenced your life in one way or the other. Or are there certain lines you particulary like and if you do why. Do you maybe have a little story connected to them. I would be interested to know if Jim´s words had any influence on you, or inspired you, cause I believe that´s what he wanted. He wanted us to listen to him and think...
Here are some examples of what he had to say about it:
If my poetry aims to achive anything it´s to deliver people from the limited ways in which they think and feel.
I offer images - I conjure memories of freedom that can still be reached like the Doors, right? But we can only open the doors - we can´t drag people through.
...Word disemble
Words be quick
Word resemble walking sticks...
Plant them they will grow
Watch them waver so...

My Impressions At Pere Lachaise 2012
08 August 2012 - 08:44 PM
I just wanted to keep you posted on the impressions I had when I visited Pere Lachaise again a few weeks ago. Maybe I need to get rid of some frustration too...
I was glad to learn that finally the bad condition of Jimīs grave, I was trying to bring attention to with last years thread, has finally been recognized by others as well. Thanks to Kevin Chiotis for taking the initiative on the issue and founding "People For The Preservation Of Jim Morrisonīs Grave". Unfortunately I also had to learn from Jim Cherryīs "Doors Examiner" that Jimīs and other graves nearby are sinking, so the problem is really serious. Nevertheless I donīt agree that this is a reason not to do anything to it. I also wonder ever since when itīs known that the graves in the area where Jimīs grave is located are sinking. I heard about it for the very first time. When we were discussing the bad condition of Jimīs grave here last year nobody apparently knew about it either. The bronze plate with the inscription needs cleaning badly! It often happens that people are wondering...when was he born, how old was he...cause you hardly can read the inscription anymore. The whole grave site could be better taken care of. Just my oppinion. It hurts me when Iīm standing there to see it.
I visited Pere Lachaise again on July 10th and all day long there were a lot of people around Jimīs grave, more than the other times when I was there before. What surprised me was that I didnīt see the security around all day. Usually they come by ever once in a while, when the crowd gets to big they even stay.
What really annoyes me are those people who obviously donīt know at all how to behave on a cemetery. Those of you who had a change to see it will agree with me that Pere Lachaise is a beautiful cemetery. To bad Jimīs and other graves do have to be messed up with graffiti. Itīs such a shame. There is a tree close to Jimīs grave in which people inscribed messages for him or their names. Now there is a bamboo mat around it to prevent people from doing that. So they used the wall of a big grave next to the barrier. Special thanks to those who feel the need to do so...cause now you have to stand even further away! Because of people like that there has to be a barrier around Jimīs grave in the first place. Those of us who want to put flowers or a candle on it and say a few words have no chance! No chance except for taking the risk to pay a 300 (400$) fine and to climb over the barrier. Thank you so much!
My suggestion would be maybe if people were given a space for their messages it could prevent them from doing so much damage. It is a cemetery, so please people remember that sometimes!!
