Did anyone catch it?

I caught most of it last night.  I remember Ray said, "Jim Morrison" at the very end.  It was his way of keeping Morrison alive.  He had mentioned earlier that the ancient Egyptians said that the dead never die if you say their name.  It was a nice ending I thought.   :)

Thanks.  Where is that photo taken?

Pedro may have this one correct.

Yes, exactly--and thank you for your perception. I loved the man then and I still do love him and I couldn't bear to see him diminished the way Kennealy (and Hopkins) tried to do to him.

But you're right, it did take me a long time. Kennealy published her lies in 1992 ( I think it was) after that rotten movie in 1991--which I still haven't seen and probably never will--but I kept quiet for years because I didn't really have a forum until the internet sort of exploded in 1995 or so. That's when I got online and discovered (to my great disgust, as you may well imagine) that the demented c**t was all over the place with her lies, and even had her own @#! website. That's also when I discovered Kerry and the DCM site, and the rest--as they say--is history.

PS: I don't believe in death anymore, so I look forward to looking that beloved man in the eye and being able to tell him that I did the best I could to present him as he really was and not the distorted version bitter and jealous assholes like Kennealy and Hopkins would have you believe.

I can also recommend Danny Sugerman's Wonderland Avenue and Ray Manzarek's LIght My Fire as accurate portraits of the man. I haven't read John's book so I can't comment, except to say that--from what I've read about his book-- he and I didn't see the same man,  but it seems Jim was on his best behavior in the "short, sweet time" we had together and John saw a different person entirely.

I read John Densmore's book "Riders On the Storm" several years ago and I highly recommend it.  I thought it was much better than any of the other books that I've read on The Doors (including Ray's).  I really thought it was very well written. As you know, John is a very straightforward type of a guy so I really felt like I was getting an honest glimpse into their world.   :)

Haven't watched it believe it or not... but loyal fan of SNL/
does that fall under comedy shows?

Depends on what SNL era you are speaking of.  If you are talking about the Belushi, Aykroyd, Chase, Radner, and Murray era then "yes".   :D

Me neither, though it's a little unnerving to think there are adults or near-adults who were born in the early/mid-nineties who wouldn't have seen it--or if they had seen it (because their parents or older siblings watched it)--wouldn't have got the joke at all (and btw time is a bitch!)  Posted Image

Anyway, to answer the original question, I like to think Jim would have enjoyed it, especially Kramer. While the settings and situations were very Urban-Jewish- NYC-specific, that was part of the joke IMO. For anyone who'd ever spent any time in NYC and hung out with New Yorkers, Seinfeld was especially delicious, yet the humor was universal enough that you didn't have to be Jewish and/or have spent time in NYC to get it.

IMO the 90s were another Golden Age of television (after the 1950s) and Seinfeld was a big part of it. I still catch it in reruns whenever I can.

I agree that the reruns are great to watch.  It's the only show that I can think of that I enjoy watching over and over again.  It still makes me laugh even though I know what's going to happen next.
