The ‘Doors to Symbolicy’ have Opened.  As I look back and close the door on this experimental journey, I can’t help but to give Thanks for the visitation of this dream of honoring, Jim and the Doors.  To give Thanks for the Guidance, leading me to create something that had never been done before.  




Here is an alternative version of the transition from ‘DTS’ to the re-opening of S y m b o l i c y.  The main character releases the spirits within to discover his true calling.  Metaphorically, my release of spirit, is the the release of the script, ‘Love Death Travel’ for fans and like-minded folks to read.

As I transition from ‘Doors to Symbolicy’ to the roots of my project, ‘S y m b o l i c y’, so does the script that started it all.  ‘Love Death Travel’ has transitioned into a ‘Newborn Awakening.’  Keeping ‘the Doors’ of possibility Open.




Here the final farewell to my ‘Doors to Symbolicy’ series.  An alternative version to the video above.  Using (Earth Air Fire Water) to share in the transformation of these elements.  This may be the End, but the Journey of S y m b o l i c y has just begun.

As for the OP, I am not sure if there should be a reboot/remake of a Doors movie.   I feel with the recent release of ‘When You’re Strange’, the Doors did a great job with showcasing who they were at that time.  For me, I have to tip my hat off for the creative approach using ‘HYW’ footage as the guide, the shell of the story-line.  

WIth all that being said, I feel if there is going to be another movie about the Doors, it should a movie based on the musical/lyrical DNA of Jim and The Doors.  I am fairly confident that most folks would say that the Doors are a visual band, filled with an array of imagery in their songs.  Why not put the lyrics, imagery, b-side/live in concert material, put it in a caldron, stir it up, pour it out, and see what you get?!

There seems to be a current trend (and rightfully so) of movies that focus on the lyrics and imagery of the musician or band.  The good thing is they are all very different from the next, and with creative minds, I think this new brand of filmmaking could really change things in the music/film world combo.  For example, you got current films and musicals like  ABBA (Momma Mia) Bob Dylan’s (I’m not there) The Beetles (Across the Universe) - all done in different and unique fashions.  

Though my journey/experimental project has come to an end, I created a concept script that would pay tribute to the Doors in a very powerful, spirited, coming of age story of John Rison told through the DNA of the Doors material.
