There are three lines from the Oliver Stone movie "The Doors" that people often quote as though Jim actually said them. I am not convinced that he did. Can anyone tell me the sources of these quotes?
"Some of the worst mistakes of my life have been haircuts."
"Where's your will to be weird?"
"Actually, I don't remember being born. It must have happened during one of my blackouts."
I'd like to know the interviews or books (and page numbers, if possible) where these can be found. I think a lot of people just assume Jim said these things because they are in the movie. A Google search tells me Jim said them, but I don't trust Google. I want to know where Jim said these things and to whom he said them. So, can anyone help me confirm these quotes actually came from the mouth of Jim Morrison? Thanks!!

I don't know about the other two, but I'd swear an oath that the one about haircuts is true. I don't know why I'm so sure it's true--just that I have a vague, vague, vague memory of saying something about getting my hair trimmed and him going ballistic until I assured him it would be just a trim and he wouldn't even notice the difference if I hadn't said something about it beforehand.

I think it was Frank or Kathy Lisciandro who once claimed that the "nervous breakdown" business was something that Jim used to say fairly regularly.....BUT.....as a kind of weird joke, not as an actual fact or something to be worried about.
If I remember (could be completely wrong here), it was in the Wheeler interview with Frank, where he says that Jim used to walk into the office and say jokingly, "I think I'm having a nervous breakdown!"
Not something anyone took seriously, and it seems that Jim didn't intend for it to be taken seriously as well.
Also, I think Frank compared that statement to another good one Jim used to say....
"Oh! Oh! I think I'm having a cerebral erection!"
That's a good one.
Regarding the 3 quotes you have mentioned, sorry, I don't know if, and/or when, he said those things.
They might have been among those "little jewels" that Jim refers to in the Free Press interview December 1970.....
Just a guess?
