The Doors were pretty popular back in the day. Here's something framed and hanging on the wall in my 'Doors' room.
I have never seen this before. This is so enlightening to read about LMF that the LP and 45 crossed the million dollar mark within an hour of each other.....what are the odds on that happening I wonder? And of all ther groups that were out that year, the Doors were the only group to stike gold with their first LP and of all the groups making their debut in 1967, the Doors are the ONLY group to have a million dollar single.
That is a mouthful! There were so many rock groups in LA at this time. These groups came from all over the US to the mecca of LA trying to get established in the rock recording business. So many of these groups were hopeful and some became known for their one hit...never to be heard of ever again. Many recorded and nothing became of their record ....and lost hope and went home again. LA was the place to be if a group was serious and wanted to pursue a career in music. That the Doors put out their first single and it went gold along with the album had to be the ultimate head trip for any group in the US. Congratulations to the Doors!
Thank you TheDoorsMusic for posting this!! What a treasure!
