Well, sure...go for the stereotyped out of control rock star...what else is there? Jim was by nature a scholar and if he had so desired to continue his education he could have been a university professor and a very good one. But the Doors were his fate.
It must be a mystery to Mr. Stone but he could have made an even better movie realistically portraying JIm. I feel he could have sold even more tickets at the box office. The character in that movie was more like a Keith Richards type with the constant bottle by his side. I said this in one of my other posts but I never saw Jim drunk....he would have a few drinks and be just happy and enjoying himself. He was full of quotes but he he did not sit around reciting his poetry just for the fun of it. He was never a show off like portrayed in the movie. One quote he had which I never forgot was by Edna St. Vincent Millay ...... "we have harsh words for the living and flowers for the dead".
Jim was total class.....really a maverick in the rock star jungle.
