Scam-artist in the room.
That link goes to the Ebay page of some knucklehead who sells 'Authentic Jim Morrison leather jackets'. Oh, they are draped over some organs in the photo so I guess that makes it ok to lie...
I would bet that you don't have a clue as to what Ray used in his career with The Doors.
This goes beyond using leather to make goods, but rather, you are promoting the killing cows in the name of Jim Morrison. You are no fan at all and you will have very bad Karma from now on out.
An exploiter is a more appropriate title for someone like you. We are not supposed to call each other names on here, but I am just calling it like I see it.
Your thread is nothing more than an ad for the crap you are selling. Fake Jim Morrison jackets are not 'collection items' and no one "needs" this sort of thing. Jim wouldn't wear that (it looks kind of gay). Furthermore, Jim was not attached to physical things.
I would suggest this thread be removed, and perhaps it will be, but I would first like for everyone to see what a true duppy-vampire is.
You are preying upon real Doors fans and it is shameful.
You claim that this was for the 20th anniversary of The Doors and that it was given away on the website.... but the problem is that 1987 was the 20th anniversay and there was no internet back then.
Looks more like it was made for that dumb Oliver Stone movie.

First, i never said that it was an authentic Jim Morrison Leather jacket, or any reference that he actually wear it, jeez, who can actually believe that?
Second, yeah i have every single organ that ray used in his career with the doors (of course NOT HIS OWN, the same models), i Have a Vox Continental MK1 with wooden Key, A Gibson G101, A Piano Bass Silver Sparkle, A Rhodes Mrk I Seventhy three, a wurlitzer 200, a Hammond B3... Feel free to believe me or not but dont challenge me on Ray's gear cause your assurely lost, trust me. I posted a thread on that forum including all my gear with description but since i supposed it been deleted.
And YEAH i got this leather jacket from the doors.com contest but YEAH its possible thats it wasnt for the 20th anniverssary, i mentioned it in my auction that i didnt remember cause i have it for years now. But i won 1 of the first prize package of that contest that was including a Special edition double CD's compilation, a t-shirt, a fake snake belt, with thte doors logo and the coat.
AND I AM a real Doors fans, i have over 70 ORIGINAL CD'S, Bootleg Official release, posters and a lot of stuff, i dont know how you can judge me on this. and i didnt killed the cow that produced this coat and im sad for her.
SO before spit on someone without any info, send a PM, to the administrator : you can deleted my post if i infregned any rules.

Thanks for sharing that organ info...... but what does the jacket have to do with anything Morrison related? It is great that you won the contest. We are all very happy for you.
It doesn't matter if it is not 'an authentic Jim Morrison leather jacket'........ what matters is that it doesn't have anything to do with Jim in the first place!
Regardless, your title for the Ebay listing is "The Doors Leather Coat Jim Morrison Special Edition jacket Rare". Try and explain that one.
For instance, let's pretend I put some rocks up on Ebay that I dug up from the side of the road..... I then state that these are Jim Morrison Rocks, but that they are not 'authentic Jim Morrison rocks'. Am I justified in passing these rocks off as JDM rocks? Didn't Jim walk on rocks at some point in his life?
It just seems that if you were a Doors fan and you wanted the item to go to another Doors fan, you would give it away. Why come on here and try to sell it? I don't get it. Who cares where it ends up?
Whose Doors collection needs that jacket? Are you not soliciting customers?
Other than the thread title and description having nothing to do with the link you provided, I object to how you portray the jacket as being somehow connected to Jim.

This is almost as bad as trying to sell Jim's death bathtub in Paris or The homeowner who bought one of the houses that Jim and Pam lived. He did some renovations and tried to sell the jars of dirt saying. JIM COULD OF WALKED on It.
If you truly wanted a fan to have it. You would of gave it away or donated to GOODWILL.
This is my constructive feedback to you.

We only have what rights God gives us.
You don't seem to get it Hammy, this guy took an ordinary black leather jacket and is trying to pass it off as a Jim Morrison jacket. Granted, it has a Doors logo stamped into it, but so what???
Where else should he do it? Uh, how about Craigslist? This whole episode is making the whole German Nazi-French-WWII thing all the more clear.
Also, what makes this piece a 'collection item'? It isn't in anyone else's collection. When I hear of people adding Doors items to their collections, it is things like vinyl LPs, autographs, reissued discs, gold records plaques, concert bills, etc.... However, I have never heard of someone saying that they needed to add a fake-Jim leather jacket to their Doors loot pile.
Morrison would not want anyone to spend money on that thing the OP gave a link to. The previous poster was correct, Goodwill is the destination. A homeless person should be wearing it.
From your post, I can only presume you have little to no respect for the memory of Jim.
Edit: If the OP had come on here with a folk-art Jim Morrison jacket that the seller created his/herself, then I would support that person in their quest to sell it and make money while providing it with a good home.
We have a right to sell art... but not this sort of thing.
Edit II: I know who will want it.... the Dave Brock character!
Edit III:

If someone was drunk and dressed like Jim, then it would be funny. When the person dressing like Jim is sober however, it comes off as disingenuous. How can someone do that and take themselves seriously? They aren't doing it for our benefit.
You may appreciate that I take exception to the singer of the so-called 'Peace Frog' Doors cover band much more so than I do these other Jim-itators though.

Perhaps it is all just due to the Heat-wave in So Cal and the fact that Black leather jackets are of no use in our territory?
Even someone on the coast can not be that ignorant of the rest of CA's weather.
What it all comes down to is me caring for Jim Morrison. It is unfortunate not to be greeted with the same feelings towards our Jim.

My argument was more that this isn't even a Jim item to begin with, therefore it has no business being associated with Jim.
Take for example, your grandmother's recipe for lasagna. What if the Italian restaurant downtown in your city were to start advertising that they were selling 'authentic GG Morrison's Grandmother's Lasagna' at a price of $20 per plate?
If the lasgana tasted like your Grandmother's lasagna actually tasted, perhaps you would not mind. However, what if it tasted like shit?
If someone is rude regarding Jim Morrison and disrespects him(as the OP has done), then I must wonder what the motive is in selling. It has to be all about the money in such a situation. When money is so important, then respect disapears.
Jesus teaches that it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to get into heaven.
People make their own heaven, and they thus also set up their own road blocks into God's kingdom.
There is no guarantee that any of these people around today will join God in his land.
I am not saying that these people [Liberals] will go to hell, but rather that they are not doing anything to prevent their assured fate.
Jim Morrsison followed the path of Dionysus. Dionysus is the god of wine and music. The main threat to art and music is Liberal policy. Therefore, Dionysus turns all Liberals into dolphins so that they can not be evil in their future incarnations.
The beauty of turning Liberals into dolphins as Dionysus does is that they all must work together in the ocean to survive. On Earth, these Liberals had simply torn each other (and us) apart, but now that they are dolphins, they instead work with humans to keep sharks away from shore.
Basically, we need a lot more dolphins in the oceans.
The first time Dionysus used this tactic was when he was a young man and was kidnapped by pirates so that they could put a ransom on his head. One of the sailors recogized Dionysus and pleaded with the other pirates to return the pirate ship to shore and release Dionysus. They would not listen to him.
Dionysus had been chained up aboard the ship and was listening to what was going on. Once Dionysus discovered that one pirate was on his side, he turned his own chains into seaweed and broke through them. Dionysus then turned towards the pirates and used his power to turn the men into doplhins. Dionysus spared the one pirate who had recognized him and allowed him to return to land and warn everyone to be good humans, otherwise they would all end up as dolphins.

Jim didn't wear that jacket. Do you have a counter-argument or are you going to rely on sarcastic remarks of no substance?
It seems to me that you are trying to say that Jim would indeed have worn that jacket despite what it represents.
What exactly am I off base about regarding Jim? He was a Blues man.... and that is pretty much it.
Morrison isn't even alive.... so why are you even bringing him into this? I certainly didn't.... and I am actually trying to keep Jim out of it all.
This is an issue between the OP and anyone who considers Jim to be family. The OP obviously doesn't LOVE Jim. Do you?
Good to see that you didn't comprehend even one single thing I did say.
Yes, I do know how Jim would feel about it.... but that isn't to say that I know what he 'thought' since only God knows that. Feelings and thoughts are two entirely separate things.
Jim's feelings are available to us all by way of the songs. Jim's heart is in the songs.
How could you not know how Jim would feel? To not know is tanamount to saying that Jim was not human.
To say that Jim Morrison would call me an asshole is the lowest thing you could ever do.

I think it is a legitimate product to sell when considering where he got it from, so it's not necessary to go with "giving it away".
All the seller simply has to keep in mind is to change the information from Jim Morrison's jacket to "Specially designed merchandise, The Doors leather jacket".
