
Combined with the doors style font, it seems like they're trying to play off "Morrison Hotel" (which it isn't) or that Morrison slept on the roof top there (which he didn't).
Maybe he did sleep on the rooftop, maybe he slept on a bunch of rooftops, I don't know, and ultimately don't really care. It just feels kind of cheap.
I did, however, read this interview of Philomene Long, a poet from Venice Beach that was a contemporary of Morrison.
"...you will be happy to know that Jim Morrison used to sleep of the roof of our building, the Ellison."

I bet people got confused and kept asking if Morrison slept there so they went with it.
