The Doors premiere a brand new video for L.A. Woman tomorrow morning, March 19th 2012, and we wanted to make sure you all get a first look before we announce it to the world.

The video was directed by two-time Emmy® nominee Matt Goodman and includes a new single version of "L.A. Woman," marking the first time this iconic track has ever been released as a single!  The video finds professional skateboarders Kenny Anderson, Alex Olson, and Braydon Szafranski taking viewers on a "Doors-centric" skateboarding tour of Los Angeles.  Their L.A. journey is filled with stops at many iconic spots from The Doors' storied career, from Venice Beach to Hollywood. Viewers will be treated to many Doors references, ranging from obvious to subtle - some cool "blink and you might miss them" cameos. See if you can catch them.

Post it, share it & spread to the world...

it is in vespa at 2:26 with green shoes..my god.
91 interview with steven Wheeler
LISCIANDRO: Sugerman's book offended those who knew Morrison best, according to Lisciandro. "Many of Jim's closest friends find that book very objectionable. I call it 'Nothing Here But Lots Of Lies,' because it's full of bullshit. You have to realize that despite what he says, Danny Sugerman did not know Jim Morrison. If you think that a fourteen-year-old can go in a bar and drink with someone, you're crazy. That never happened.
"I know for a fact that Jim did not like Danny," he goes on to say. "Jim told me on numerous occasions that Danny was a nuisance. But because Jim was a nice guy, he was kind enough to give Danny a few minutes of his time. Danny was always pestering Jim. So those stories of Danny having dinner or doing his homework at Jim and Pamela's apartment are hilariously ridiculous. That never happened."

BAM 7th March 1981
PAUL ROTCHILD : Danny Sugarman (co-author of the book) is a fan of The Doors who took Jerry Hopkins' original manuscript and destroyed it. Danny didn't interview me. Jerry did. Danny then changed a lot of my interview to hearsay that other people did. I'm furious about that book and so is everyone else I've talked to who is quoted in it. It's a great piece of sensationalism, very little of which holds to historical fact. The general shape of it is correct, but Jim is sensationalized rather spectacularly, and the best parts of Morrison are not there. The people who really helped The Doors' career are treated in a very cavalier manner, and the only people who come off well in my opinion are the groupies and syocpants who were hanging around the band and close to Danny Sugarman who was a groupie himself".
There's only one thing in the whole process that bothers me, and that is Danny Sugarman's book. If Jim Morrison were alive today, he'd be livid about that book. Not because of the truth it tells, but because of the lies it maintains. Like Sugarman's trying to keep going the myth that Jim might still be alive! That is pure, total, unmitigated bullshit. If Danny had sat there where your sitting and listened to Pam after she came back from Paris, he wouldn't be trying to perpetuate this myth - and that's what it is.

Jim, an interesting point about Jac referencing the way in which he sold albums in the early days.

Surely you jest?

Jeff, any reason why Ray isn't in the video?

I thought I was the only one who thought this was terrible.  I appreciate the hard work it went into making this.  Yet, They chopped the song and took away its uniqueness.

Jim Morrison would not be happy.

I can not believe that John Densmore took part in it.

With all due respect, Jim didn't object to the editing of the entire solo section of Light My Fire or the editing of Riders on the Storm. Why do you believe that he would have felt differently about L.A. Woman? For that matter, John didn't object to the editing of those songs either. Why would he feel differently about L.A. Woman?

Yes I think we need ro realise that it's up to The Doors as to what they do with their art. If we like it, great, if not, it doesn't matter. As for Jim, well let's be brtually honest here, the man has been dead for over 40 years and so therefore doesn't get a say in it. Pretending to know what he'd say or like etc is just absurd.

Well I read differently.  I read that Robby said that they (all 4 Doors) did not want to touch Light My Fire. Only after much prodding from the label did they let Rothschild have a crack at it.  It took much convincing.

John has stood up along side Jim and has stated he wanted to keep the integrity of The Doors.

To me this video is an abomination.

They would of been better off using Jim's movie HWY: An American Pastoral.  To me this movie is very much related to the song LA Woman.  It has much of the same themes.  With the added Riders of the storm theme.

I am sorry I just do not like this new video.  If I am in the minority.  It will not be the first time.

Next time they could have the skateboarders ride past Ray Manzarek's house. That would of been more interesting.

Based upon his past actions and remarks.  It is not absurd at all.  It is called taking an inference.

Ray is not in this video?  Why?  Maybe he refused?

It is absurd because (I assume) you didn't know Jim and you have no idea what his thoughts would be now. I make different decisions to what I would have made 10 years ago, let alone 40.

Also your comment that they should have used HWY in this video is strange also, considering your views on what Jim would have thought especially because HWY was something Jim did seperately from The Doors.

I'm not particularly fond of this video but The Doors can do what they like with their art.

If you want to argue over stupidness.  Please e-mail me.   It is not for this board.  I feel that Jim would of hated it.  It is my opinion.  Do not like it.  Take it to the e-mails.  I am done with this back and forth.

HWY has been said to be the video version of LAW.  If you watched the whole thing.  You would know it.

Anymore discussion you can e-mail me.  No more board back and forth.
