I agree. It seems unlikely that the Doors set out on the road to record the May 1, 2 & 8th shows then declined to record the 10th. I find that somewhat hard to believe. It also seems possible that some other shows (perhaps some September '69 and February '70) shows exist beyond what we know circulates.
Recording equipment wasn't as portable in those days. If you wanted to record a show on 8-track at a venue you had to truck all the equipment in. The Doors did two shows in Pennsylvania (May 1 & 2) and then the truck was sent ahead to Detroit (about 200 miles away) for May 8. Two days later on May 10, The Doors played Baltimore which is over 500 miles away from Detroit. There wasn't enough time to ship the recording equipment and set it up at the venue. It's the same reason they taped the Boston shows on April 10 but not the Hawaii show on April 18. They couldn't get the recording equipment there. We're lucky they taped as many shows as they did. The original plan was only to record the Aquarius gigs.

Speaking of which, I'd like to see the three Aquarius shows and Detroit re-released to bring the price down to match the other live releases. At this point, if you want a CD copy of Live In Detroit or any of the Live At The Aquarius releases, you're going to spend at least $30 or more each because they're out of print. I think an Aquarius budget box set would be a nice idea and give The Doors the opportunity to fix the clicks/pops on Jim's vocal track during the entire Aquarius second performance. Those glitches could be digitally removed pretty easily.

Downloads would be a perfect option for post-Morrison shows (though I always prefer physical releases). Anyone who has seen the Bremen 5/3/72 footage or heard the audio knows the Doors were still a very capable and energetic band. They do an excellent version of Love Me Two Times and Verdilac at the show.

IMO the version of Love Me Two Times played at Bremen was as good as, and dare I say better than, any recording of the song with Jim, except the mammoth version recorded at Bakersfield.

I just love the extra acapella/instrumental bit Ray threw in.

Why would they do this?? They can barely get out the LAW outtakes and your looking for re-releases of stuff which you can find just about anywhere on the internet for $20 bucks. I'd rather see their efforts go elsewhere. BTW probably not happening regardless.

I like Jim's "Old Stone Road" improv. Hopefully, Bakersfield will be released at some point. I remember it was going to be released years ago, but Ray supposedly vetoed it.
