Non serious thread, no need to smoke your brains on this one. Simple 1 to 5 star rating for each album.

Rules: You can not rate 5 on all. At least two must be given less than 5.

XXXXX 5 Debut: The Doors
XXXXX 5 Strange Days
XXX   3 Waiting for the Sun
XXXX  4 The Soft Parade
XXXXX 5 Morrison Hotel
XXXXX 5 L.A. Woman
XXXXX 5 An American Prayer
XXX   3 Other Voices/Full Circle

Vote here and in the poll.

Notes: The song 'The Soft Parade' is what makes the album a 4 instead of otherwise being a 3.
Waiting for the Sun is only a 3 and not a 4 since it doesn't have a long song like the other albums.
Morrison Hotel lacks an epic long song, but everything else is so top notch on that album.

Epic songs get their respective album a 5 rating except in the case of The Soft Parade since everything else on the LP causes it to drop to a 4.

'The End', 'When the Musics Over', 'The Soft Parade', and 'Riders on the Storm'.

Debut: The Doors...................4
Strange Days..........................3
Waiting for the Sun.................3
The Soft Parade......................2
Morrison Hotel.......................5
L.A. Woman............................4
An American Prayer................3
Other Voices..........................3
Full Circle..............................3

I have always been a fan of the post Morrison material,

it was good music but the shadow of Jim overcast them,

While the music of Soft Parade is decent, it seems rather jumbled

and not very together.

The Doors 5
Strange Days 5
Waiting For The Sun 3
The Soft Parade 3
Morrison Hotel 4
L.A Woman 5

An American Prayer 5

Other Voices 3
Full Circle 3

Of all albums, these days when I want to listen to The Doors, usually the album The Soft Parade is played. Personally grown to love to play it. Not be too biased, keeping it real it got a 3. I regard The Doors, Strange Days and L.A Woman strongest because they "conceptually" hold through, with clear-cut vision. Other Voices & Full Circle pass through with 3's, not enough to make me continue listening but worth listen for a Doors fan.

Sorry to break the rules but five stars aren't enough. We're not talking about the Stones or the Beatles here, we're talking about the freakin' Doors!!!!! So, I'm turning my amp up to 11 (subtle Spinal Tap reference).

The Doors - 11
Strange Days - 10
Waiting For The Sun - 6
The Soft Parade - 5
Morrison Hotel - 10
LA Woman - 11

Other Voices - 8
Full Circle - 5

Absolutely Live - 8
Alive she Cried - 7

The numbers are all relative to each other, so therefore it doesn't matter if it is 5, 10, or even 100 stars.

For instance, you actually did rate the albums on 5 star scale, but you just doubled the value of each star. We can thus reduce it by halving the value of each star, but still keep the relative ratings between the LPs the same.

Quote

The Doors - 5.5
Strange Days - 5
Waiting For The Sun - 3
The Soft Parade - 2.5
Morrison Hotel - 5
LA Woman - 5.5

Other Voices - 4
Full Circle - 2.5

Absolutely Live - 4
Alive she Cried - 3.5

So, Defiant, First off, you stole my middle name. Second off, you've been banned; hence, have to think up a new screenname* compliant???* I have to give all
5 stars or I wouldn't be here.

Probably the same place he was the last time he took a couple of days off because he couldn't find anything new to post, don't you think?
All men dream: but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dreams with open eyes, to make it possible. This I did.

Work for a corporation for a low wage.  Stockholders get rich, you don't.  Repeat and rinse.
