If you watch the DVD- Messag of Love, a movie about the 1970 festival, youll see two segments of The Doors.
If you look close, that is, because there is no light on stage. It is totally dark, presumably on Jimīs request.

Isn't that DVD mastering like 15 years old?
Modern mastering technology can do wonder with resotring "dark" footage. Watch the Royal Albert hall Zeppelin video they released in 2003 on DVD for an example.
No Doors fan would wish that a filmed concert be left to rot in a vault forever.

The Doors will not buy the rights. And that is great. The Doors shouldnīt be ripped off.
- Murray Lerner can burn the footage.

So Jimi/Who/Miles/Cohen/Moodies/ELP/Jethro all got ripped off and the Doors deserve a better deal? Do explain.
I thought it was the Doors wanted to buy the footage and Lerner only willing to license.

Jimi/Who/Miles/Cohen/Moodies/ELP/Jethro paid how much for licence?

Given that 7 acts have licensed the footage(Jimi/Who have used the footage in multiple projects) shows that it's not Lerner being difficult at the negotiating table.
How many clips have the Doors actually licensed any new clips since Sugarman died 7 years ago? Maybe CKS on Perception.
BMA have been unable to license any audio recording, though the Doors have bought several things outright.
