My friend picked up the box on Friday along with the Beatles and said the alternate Doors takes are COMPLETELY different and very cool. Mine should be here in a few days.

Got my set. The alternates are really great. I'm surprised how much I like them. I particularly like the Changeling alternate. I love Ray's organ fills on it. The Love Her Madly alternate is nice and loose too. Really, if I can get a multi-disc set of versions like this, I'd love it. If there are just one or two useable alternates of each, perhaps the 5-disc set is going to be a bit dull but I reckon there will be some good stuff waiting in there. It's still hard to believe I've just listened to three outtakes from the sessions that have never been available before. Amazing.
I was also pleasantly surprised to find the (correct me if I'm wrong) original 7" versions of Riders On The Storm and its b-side, The Changeling (although not on the same 7"). Unfortunately the 7" of Love Her Madly seems to be the LP version, not the 7" version, although I understand that this wasn't a boxset of the original 7" releases from the album. The edits on Riders and The Changeling are brutal and make the tracks seem very rushed to me but I'm glad to have them. They are officially released versions of the songs. It's a bit of a travesty that all Doors single mixes aren't commercially available on CD.
Anyway, I'll keep my fingers crossed firstly, that the 5-disc set will arrive and secondly, that it will contain the original single mixes of Love Her Madly, Don't Go No Further, Riders On The Storm and The Changeling.

Confused on the singles set.
If I am buying the LAW Workshop Sessions - do the singles offer anything different?
