It really is baffling that we do not have the complete track lisitng for this deluxe edition.Obviously,this must of been in limbo for quite awhile.We recieved the 2 cd set listings a long time ago.

I do get the feeling that most of the songs will merely be incomplete snippets and stuff.You know false starts and whatnot.In between studio chatter and all of that.

I am okay w/ this providing that these reels of the LAW sessions aren't stretched over 5 discs when they could very well be contained on a mere three.

Many years back i picked up Billie Holiday's complete Decca studio recordings and it was COMPLETE.Right down to the studio chatter in between takes (false starts and all of that).Every little piece of recording she made during these sessions were released in a 10 cd box set.

So if the deluxe set is similiar w/ a nice book and pictures,liner notes etc.,i will definately not cancel my orders.

But Jeff,you folks must have a completed list of all tracks for this set by now.Unless of course you folkies are FULLY commited to tracking down a reasonable copy of Paris Blues to be thrown in the box for good measure.

*Again,please,could you put up the complete track listings (including track times) for this LAW Deluxe Set?

I pre-ordered in September.  I was fine waiting until Jan 2012 to get it.  Now what?  I am still unclear as to what happened.  I don't want the 2 disc set.  I want what I ordered.  Can someone please explain this so even I can understand.  Maybe it's just cause I'm too pissed, but what the hell is going on?

That is crazy, they kill you in shipping charges then no product i would be pissed also! I preordered 2 super deluxe box sets for 230.00 dollars and have been  waiting for this news and tracklisting to see  if i'm going to cancel or not! I may have no choice if it does not happen my choice may be made for me what a wacky situation!!

Huh?! What a confusing situation? I am totally lost in this LA Woman deluxe thing....Can anybody tell me if there is something to be released this friday? I read on the Doors homepage about some new releases:


Pre-Order L.A. Woman: The Workshop Sessions (2 LP Vinyl Set)
Pre-Order L.A. Woman: 7" Singles Box Set
Pre-Order The Doors - L.A. Woman (40th Anniversary)

Thanks RS! So if I understand it right the only thing that is officially released next friday is the 7" singles box set and all the rest is to be released soon, in 2012 and some cases never ;-) ?

All Rhino would have to do to guarantee brisk sales of the Super Deluxe Edition is include a limited edition single with the first x number of pre-orders. If that single were to be the partial Paris Blues recording in a nicely designed picture sleeve, I think those box sets would sell out really quickly. I've seen one of Rhino's free pre-order bonus singles selling on eBay for more than the original cost of the associated box set.

I've never bought any Doors audio bootleg.  15-20 years ago I picked up some Doors video bootlegs that STILL await official release.

My guess is there is something on the outtakes that someone just recently learned and takes offense to.

It is highly illogical for Rhino to go back on their word after Jeff has declared "we will do the 5 cds outtakes".

Isn't it a contract violation to offer to sell Doors master recordings without label approval?  While they personally offered to return money, all receipt documentation say "non-refundable".  The vague possibility of a download release is a totally different product than the cd boxset.

I don't think Jampol would do that because he would be in big trouble, and yet another reason why I think the Doors themselves pulled it.
