Now, could you please go back to kindergarten, they have muffins and juice waiting for you there.
Afterwards you can play in the sandbox with your plasticcars.
Now, you just hop along.

I'm in the middle of craziness, guys - Michael Jackson Cirque show opens in ten days, Doors LAW 40th, Janis Joplin 40th anniversary of Pearl, Record Store Day vinyl boxes for both Doors and Janis, our Joplin musical, and, oh yeah - my LIFE!!
Can't address right now, and I'm waiting for final plans on EVERYTHING and will announce/show/list all at once. I'm exhausted! That sandbox looks sooooooo attractive right now.....

This is the funniest line I've heard on these boards in looong time. I hear ya Jeff, well get us the news when you can. Maybe you can pass this cd jacket pic off to somebody else in the office???? Just a thought. Are you one of these control freaks that needs to do everything???? I mean I respect that tremendously, just curious. Be well man. I/we will be standing by. Thanks for all your hard work and your staff (Cory, Dave and the rest of the gang) I/we appreciate it. Oh yeah, should I ask or not??? I feel like I'm walking on egg shells here....BUT Vinyl Box pre-order this week or no????
Thanks again...

Dude, he just said he will let us know what he knows when he knows it. And it's a pre-order! I can understand if it was going to be available upon order, but why get so antsy-pants over something you will have to wait on anyway? He said the information will be disseminated when it's ready to. I know we are all anxious about these releases, but c'mon people, patience! You're all making yourselves look like those groups of people who line up at 1 a.m on Black Friday and rush The Doors of Wal-Mart when they finally open several hours later. We know this stuff is coming out, and I'm assuming Jeff is not playing games with us, and I'm sure he'll be the first one to let us know when he knows. So leave the poor guy alone about all this release-date crap and at least pester him about something relevant, like the London Fog setlist, or how many Taylor Swift songs are on his Ipod. Jesus...

This LAW box set is probably the most undertaking project the band has set forth for us hardcore fans. Can anyone else name any other band--excluding the whole Hendrix "family" fiasco--that has dedicated an entire five albums of studio material to one album? Not Zeppelin, not the Beatles, not the Stones, nobody... The only thing I think they've missed the ball on so far is getting HWY out there, especially with the recent work on When You're Strange, and not being able to put more "deleted scenes" on the DVD release of WYS, given how many hours of footage DiCillo had access to, allegedly...
Still no tracklisting for those 5 discs, and 40% of the album don't have any complete alt takes according to Jampol/Botnick. ROTS only has a false start.
Beach Boys, King Crimson, Stooges and Elvis have released large amounts of studio takes on various multi-disc boxes. Jazz guys like Miles have had insane boxsets dedicated to a single album.
I'm of the opinion that the archive he band has access to has been thoroughly catalogued. Party to digitise everything to avoid decomposition. Also photos in the BMA releases how computer barcode stickers that indicates some elaborate filling system. The band has made a career out of slowly releasing unheard stuff piecemeal.

I read your post 5 times and still cannot make out what it says don't post when drunk it's bad. Anyway Riders on the storm is not only a false start there is a complete alternate version that is longer than the original around 9 minutes long that will be on 2 cd and 5 cd versions. It was posted a while back if you look.

This is NOT the "40th Anniversary Mixes" version. Those versions are going away forever. We had our 40th Anniversary, they were special remixes, we're now past that, and I believe "special" should be just that - they've disappeared.
This is the Doors Vinyl mastering (with some tweaks for digital Redbook), as done by Bruce Botnick, Bernie Grundman and Jac Holzman for The Doors Vinyl Box(!)
