I don't think making the L.A. Woman 3-CD outtakes set exclusive to MusicToday is a wise choice.

I don't often share a lot of details here, not only because many times they concern works in process, but also because my words often get lifted from here and quoted (or misquoted) in other media.

Suffice it to say that I am deeply disappointed in the treatment our fans have been getting from some of our vendors/suppliers/partners.

Our fans are - aside from The Doors' actual recordings - our most precious and treasured asset. And they deserve to be respected, treated fairly, served properly, accounted to, and provided with great products at fair prices. THIS has not always been happening.

And we are in serious review of every option we have in order to make this right - including shifting vendors/partners/suppliers.

So - stand by, but don't for ONE SECOND think that we don't treat this with dead seriousness.

For me, this is the 2nd time that i've got a defective product (1st time was the matrix digipack that i also ordered with the t-shirt and the poster adn the whole stuff was in the same package, the cd was without protection at the bottom of the poster, they did the replacement without any problem).

using that kind of bags to shipping isn't a work of a serious store.

i have to send a lot, i mean a lot, of emails to get a satisfactory reply, i've never have this kind of trouble with amazon.com or rhino.com or cduniverse.com or ebay!

i ordered the DVD and the BD on amazon.com and get it one week earlier than the musictoday package, and shipping rate was lower than musictoday.com

and, as you do, i'm really disappointed with the musictoday.com service too

yes, what a rip off!

the doors have to fix this kind of mistakes. we have two ways to go:

1. return to jewel cases, they are harder and are easily replaceable
2. change musictoday and work with amazon.com

i'm upset as hell!

1. Hmm... I don't care if they use digipacks or jewel cases.
2. Yes, yes, and again Yes! I will never order something at musictoday again. Never had such a bad service before.

I like buying from Rhino. Never had a bad experience there. Was disappointed, like I might have mentioned, that brand new Doors cd product is no longer found in my local West L.A. Best Buy store, so I end up buying some stuff from Ebay, where I assume The Doors don't make a cent for that stuff. Offtimes I'm buying promos on Ebay-

Why not buy from Amazon rather than Ebay?

Yeah,i had similiar problems w/ the Boston cd release.I only purchased it thru Muictoday ultimatley for the t-shirt..Now i couldn't give two big poops.

By the way, what's that saying..."Fool me once shame on you.Fool me twice"......oh yeah that's right, shame on you.

I never will ever go the Musictoday route, unless i have no other choice.Meaning the items are sold exclusive through the doors.com. and they are still affliated w/ MT.Sure hope not though!

I would much rather buy through here than anywhere else, but like others will only do that if it isn't musictoday. Not even sure about exclusives anymore either.

I remember when the sampler first came out - It was missing its case.  Rhino sent out a new cd with a case without even a request form the customers - QUALITY service.

When the sampler first came out, mine arrived in a clear jewel case, no booklet or tray card. I called and they replaced it with the digipak.
