So if you've already purchased the 2CD set, you'll apparently need to purchase the ENTIRE 2CD SET TWICE MORE in download form from both iTunes and Amazon as mp3s to get the 4 bonus tracks.  It doesn't appear you can buy those bonus tracks individually.  Of course, you could hold off as there is a chance the 3CD set may come out sometime in 2012, but as Jeff noted, the 3CD set is not confirmed.

I wouldn't worry too much about it NOT coming - I just can't say 100% until it's being pressed. But I'm pretty confident. If it doesn't come, for some strange, screwed-up reason (and as we've all seen, there's ALWAYS one o' those), it'll DEF be available as a download. But as I said, I'm pretty sure the 3CD set's a-comin'.

I think it would be about time that all the fans that bought the 40th anniversary Boxset back in 2006 ( I think it was) get those free downloads they were promised. This could be the chance now!

A wait a second, I think I know the answer: it's 4-6 months away and we'll know when Jeff knows ;-) C-L-A-S-S-I-C

I may go the download route if it's only available through Music Today.

What is everybody bitching about? If ALL the bonus tracks on iTunes and Amazon ARE in fact on the 3 CD disc as Jeff said earlier then who cares???? Most, if not ALL of you will be buying the 3 disc box so what's the problem??? Yes, you may have to wait but so what? A few months tops??? Relax. Now, if they're not then by all means start bitching here.....................................................................again.

ocassional buyers or newbies are not concern about release dates or about complete outtakes, in fact, serious doors fans, as some members here, are really concerned about the possibility to the cancelation of the 3Cd box (as you can read a few pages back the 5Cd was sure to release but then was cancelled, sadly jeff didn't win the good fight and also the vinyl Lp was delayed ). now the other detail is, a serious doors fan can't wait 3, 4 or 10 months until the release of the 3cd box to listen 4 new tracks, i'm sure that you can understand that, right? and of course nobody want to pay for the same thing 3 times, right?

Seriously? I assumed that the downloads would be available via Amazon and iTunes as well.

I dealt with them when I purchased The Matrix in 2008. I never dealt with them again with the exception of pre-ordering the canceled 5 CD set. That is why I may download the 3 CD set if it is available on Amazon or iTunes rather than buy the physical set through Music Today.

The DVD is coming out on Eagle Vision, which is a UK company, and are huge in Europe. So, I think it's safe to say there will be European-coded versions readily available everywhere in Europe(!)

Thanks for the reply Jeff

I'm a 100% Doors nut and yes I CAN wait. So can you. You're building it. You waited years for The Matrix gigs (still waiting for masters, yes this year but), NY, PITT, Boston etc etc etc shows. You'd be amazed what you could do. I'm still waiting and praying for the Doors Live in Hawaii show pops up sometime in great quality. If I can wait for that you can wait a few months too. Please.

Well, you're part of the 1% of the doors fan population than CAN wait,

but, there is an interesting thing, the whole thing was announced to release on last November, so everything must be in the can, that's the difference with  NY, Pitt, etc , they weren't delayed, and never got an exact date for the matrix release

and if you can wait, i really don't know how you do it! and please don't forget that we are different people, and you always are excited for any news (good or bad)

Thank you, Jeff.

Dear Jeff, With the unfortunate poor response & cancellation of the 5 disc pre-order LA Woman; its obvious that there are fewer Doors Fans than there was years ago. Doors Fans(like myself) are getting older & close to retirement(6 years, one month & 12 days for me @55) & some want to focus on saving as much as they can for retirement & expensive reissued CD's are something that isn't a priority. Perhaps its time to question the expensive manufacturing only to sell to a small market. It seems that DIGITAL DOWNLOADS ARE THE WAY TO GO. Its a lot cheaper than elaborate box sets & it seems to be the way to go especially w/ the younger generation. I have every Bright Midnight release from the Sampler to the recent Vancouver show and  as a loyal Doors fan for many years I would be more than happy going digital if it was the only option. I'm sure most of the loyal Doors Fans on this forum would support this. Thanks for keeping us updated on all the forums. Cheers, Andy.

Yeah, I'm not with this guy. Count me out on that. Make CD's and Box Sets whenever possible and maybe sell them at a smaller amount??? Like 5k sets or fewer. Digital only for the Doors???? NOOOOOOOOOO. Oh wait unless they are the downloads (stillwaitingforthosefossilstocomeoutsevenyearslatersorrycouldn'tresistI'msureyourlaughingtoo) Call me old school but I like CD in hand unless you're talking about some Monkee's Box set. YUCK!!!! Did you hear they have a deluxe box coming out?? Oh never mind you did.

By the way whatever happened to the Rhino Handmade label??? It's still there I know but why haven't the Doors done this lately???? Very curious.

Welcome to Rhino Handmade! If you are searching for extremely limited  editions of hard-to-find rarities, lost recordings and, above all else, premium  musical experiences, you've come to the right place. We raid the vaults on an  endless quest for material that is out of print or never-before-released to  curate, create, and release exclusive products you won't find from anyone  else.

The consummate collector need look no further. No need for rewiring. No  assembly at all required. We make them. You order them (‘til they’re sold  out! Yep, when we say limited we mean limited!). We send them to you. It's as  simple as that.

Rhino Handmade spans all genres, from rock and folk, to jazz, spoken word,  and more. We won't stop until we've come up with something for everybody.

I disagree completely. The reasons for that have already been discussed by me and others in this thread.
The Down, Across & Up DVD is now available. It is a multi-region DVD. The DVD and book are available through our website.

You & the other handfull on Die Hard Doors fans may not be enough to keep the DIGITAL AGE away. Oh wait! Maybe there's hope after all there was about 125 pre orders for the Doors 5 disc set that got canned. I would say the writing is on the wall & perhaps thats the nail in the coffin for future Doors physical box sets.
