Thanks

Isn't 'Entourage' a bit too outdated for Doors music? No real need to get caught up in their Juju vibes.

However, it would be nice to tie a new release of 'LA Woman' in with some program or movie which actually has relevance.

There are a number of new hour long cable series which are set in Los Angeles that would blend well with an 'LA Woman' Doors tune, 'Franklin and Bash' for instance.

Entourage has used at least three or four different Doors songs in their seven seasons so far. The entire show also takes place in LA. Please do your research before commenting on things you don't understand.

"The Closer" would also be a great show for LA Woman.

WHO CARES ABOUT ENTOURAGE!  WHAT IS THE TRACKLISTING? THEY HAVE TO HAVE A LIST BY NOW OF WHAT IS GOING TO BE ON IT!! IF IT'S NOT SOMETHING WE ARE ALL GOING TO DROOL OVER THEN ALL THE OTHER QUESTIONS DON'T MATTER. DON'T WORRY ABOUT PREORDER UNTIL WE HAVE AN IDEA OF WHAT WE ARE ORDERING.

Here's a game. What songs are we hoping for? Besides Paris Blues of course. Maybe there's no more songs, just outtakes of what's on the album. That would be fine with me. I heard from a credible source years ago that "they" found 10 versions of L.A. Woman alone. Hope that's correct!

I've said this a hundred times before but the Doors themselves over the decades have said they tried Down On The Farm and Get Up And Dance with Jim during the LAW sessions. I can't believe they said, "ok, stop recording. We're going to try a song that we won't use until after Jim passes away". It seems impossible they rehearsed and recorded multiple takes of only the 10 tracks but, hey, I'm just a fan that wants to hear all I can. Sorry for the sarcasm. I suppose I'm just worried that we may not hear it all. Certainly, I'm willing to pay for the deluxe, 4 CD version which I'm hoping contains quite a bit...

Maybe I'm alone in this train of thought, but I've always thought that when the guys said they PLAYED Down On The Farm and Get Up & Dance for Jim, he wasn't into the tunes and didn't want to record them. Thus, I think they literally just played him the songs with no tapes recording. But hey, I hope I'm wrong! I'd DIE to hear both those tunes sung by Jim. I just don't think those tapes ever existed.

I suppose that's quite possible. They never seem to clarify. Perhaps it's just me hoping such recordings exist. Either way, I can't wait for this release!!

I would assume we will be hearing about track lists and finalized plans soon. Wild guess.

Well i hope the Limited Edition (& #ed) set will be worth it.I mean if they included the original version,the'06 "Perception mix",a disc worth of outtakes and then the dvd of the LAW Classic Albums program i really won't be ordering it.I'd just stick w/ the 2 cd set.Even if it's an attractive little package,it ain't (in me books) worth it.I'd like to see an additional cd of outtakes (or an unreleased interview w/ the guys from back in the day).If there is to be a dvd in and amongst this,why not a collection of rare film footage.

But alas,i have a feeling that the limited edition is going to be nothing more then perhaps a nice booklet exclusive to the set and possibly the companion LAW program.In other-words probably nothing extra in the way of materials (ie. audio,film) on the extra discs.

Either way i'll be happy if the 2 cd set contains a nice handful of outtakes from the LAW sessions.

Mr Mojo Risin is the story of the making of the Doors last album with Jim Morrison L.A. Woman . 2011 is the 40th anniversary both of the album s release and of the death of Jim Morrison and this programme goes into detail of how the album came about, its recording and what was happening to the band at the time. The story is told through new interviews with the three surviving Doors: Ray Manzarek, Robbie Krieger and John Densmore plus contributions from Jac Holzman, founder of their label Elektra Records, Bill Siddons, who was their manager, Bruce Botnick, engineer and co-producer of the album and others associated with the Doors at this time. The show includes archive footage of the Doors performing both live and in the studio, classic photographs and new musical demonstrations from the Doors. Bonus Features Additional interviews not featured in the broadcast version.

Jeff when are you gonna publish the track listing details of both 2cd and 4cd editions? THX

What I really want to know is if they plan to do something like this for all the releases?

I mean, I know I mentioned it before but the Pink Floyd Immersion and the U2 Uber-set make me drool for what the Doors could actually accomplish.

hi :)
I haven't posted for a while, but i've read a few things already here,
about the forthcoming LA Woman release.
I'm rather excited, but I hope we're not seeing (or is it listening?) the anniversary mixes any more.
I mean, it was fun for a while, and it was a special treat for the fans,
but I wish the mixes went back to their original sound
(99 "botnicked", or "hoffmanised" even better)

hoping for a worth having box with all the extra goodies

My guess is this ship has passed. They already know what's going on it. Now, this doesn't mean it's not on there but adding stuff this late in the game...not likely.  Here's hoping they're crossing the T's and dotting the I's on the press release. Just my 2 cents.

Hi:

1. It IS on/in there;

2. The track list is juuuuust being finalized now;

3. The double vinyl release will be comprised 100% of outtakes/alternate takes/studio chatter;

4. The deluxe 4-CD package will contain ALL outtakes/alternate takes/studio chatter that we have (warts 'n all, just for you guys);

5. There is a brand-new, never-before-heard (or even KNOWN) Doors song which will be in several (maybe all) of the packages. It's a longish blues jam, with lyrics, called, "She Smells So Nice";

5. On a COMPLETELY different note, you are not gonna BELIIIEEEEVE what I just took delivery of today. I think-a you-a gonna be-a surprised!!!  (Has nothing to do with LA Woman - in fact, just the opposite)
