Gotta disagree with that assessment. Plant and Page were big Doors fans and were EXCITED to be sharing the stage with the Doors at the Seattle festival....no jealousy.
But then Jim DID put on one of the WORST shows of the band's career by all accounts, including from Ray, Densmore, the concert promoter who was pissed that Jim put on such a horrible performance.
Actually Robert Plant's assessment and disappointment in Morrison's performance that night was echoed by most everyone else. Plus Zep--who headlined the show, playing after the Doors--put on a GREAT performance.
I recall Ray saying back in the Eighties that the Doors only played Seattle twice, and both times the concerts were "horrible" and that the Doors for some reason couldn't create their "magic" in Seattle.
No need for everyone to jump on Plant and Page (Morrison fans) for telling the truth of what happened the one time the two bands shared a concert date.
