Why would you want cut songs? I don't want edit versions on CD. Your missing the point. Singles should be on Vinyl only. I want them to be released how they were back then not today. If they want to release b-sides and other rare stuff than we can wait for another rarities CD. This is a totally different project, Pal.

I would rather have the "Singles Collection" on cd if they were going to do either vinyl or cd and NOT both.
As far as why one(me-self)would want "cut songs" on cd or slight alterations of songs?Well, because i have the "FULL SONGS" already on the studio albums. Both on cd & to vinyl. And i find i play my cds more then vinyl to begin with.

If this were to be a TRUE & ONLY "Singles Collection" and being faithful to that vision, well then yes of course it would make sense to ONLY make this collection available on vinyl.Chances are though, not going to happen. My guess(i like to believe it is somewhat an educational one)they'd sell more of the "collection" if it were on cd then on vinyl.Unless of course a VERY slim number of copies were made to vinyl.

The fact of the matter is vinyl died a loooooooooong time ago.It is not what the majority of people buy.The reason why it has had some resurgence in the past years is because often vinyl records are released as "Limited" or "Special" edition sets ("Anniversary","Commerative",etc).

I haven't got any qualms w/ vinyl.Heck i bought the Doors' Vinyl set(2 infact). But,between either a cd collection or vinyl collection,i'd go for the cd collection.I'll probably buy both IF they are both made available. And perhaps they just might be.

That's fair but the singles collection would only be a limited number so vinyl would fit that. To me a CD singles collection is just another box of stuff we already own (yes I know they're cut versions) but I'm looking at this as a "TRUE" collectable not as a regular box set. Let's see what they do here...In the end, I'm the guy who will buy it regardless of what they do.

Not sure I'd be interested in this, unless their are b-sides etc. with really cool packaging on cd.  Otherwise it would be insanely stupid to release on cd.

I hated the remixed 2007 albums so I stuck with the 1999 mini-vinyl set.

But, like I said if this was released with tons of b-sides alternate takes etc. with cool mini-vinyl packaging I'd consider throwing down.

any news on this? considering that the 4000 sets of l.a.woman 7" had very good sales, now that you can see that is there market to singles vinyl box sets, this box will be a dream come true?

a mini box of cd singles would be stupid.  I've seen the Stones/Blondie/Beatles ones.  Vinyl singles in a box would be cool.

I also would pick up a single cd comp of all the single mixes.  Just like I would pick up a cd release of the mono first album.

Not sure where the mono SD or WFTS tracks should find a home.

I would love a solid collection of 60-80 minute discs, with the single versions on them in chronological order. The singles are an underestimated, not-much-talked-about field in Doors archaeology. There are lots of exciting differences, additions and eliminations in these tracks.  It's about time someone official starts digging and unearthing these raw, unpolished jewels. I'd like to hear them complete with needle-drops, hiss, clicks and ticks.

The result might look like this:

That's a bit beside the point.

Collectors deserve a 1-stop( & digital debut)way of aquiring the single versions that made original fans interesting int he band int he first place.  Plus it was approved by the band/production tema/label when Jim was still around.

On his forum Steve Hoffman has written a couple paragrpahs how the single LMTT smokes every version released since.
