Hey Jeff, some time ago you asked people who had original Doors singles to contact you, what has come of the possibility of a singles release from this (or was this for the LMF and POS singles that were released on itunes)? Thanks.

I wonder the same. See my earlier post regarding this compilation here: Singles Collection

You'll find a list there of quite a few single versions.
I really would like this project to happen, and am willing to help or submit ideas.

I really hope they do this soon. This would be a real treat for any TRUE doors fan. A sell out instantly.

"A sell out instantly"?Uh,um,well i consider myself a TRUE Doors fan,but i'm not sure i'll pick this up.I might eventually.I'd be more apt to agree w/ 'cha if this was in reference to Isle of Wight on dvd.Or an unheard soundboard.

After all these are merely "singles".Yes,some variations here and there, but essentially "singles".

A limited edition box? 2,500-5,000 sets. Oh yeah no question. Sell out.

Oh,if it's limited edition,i concede.For sure.

I was unaware that this was to be a limited edition.I took your post Pats to mean it was going to sell really, really, well.

Eventually all limited editions though (for the most part) sell out.Simply for the fact that these are "limited".And i,for myself, would probably snatch one up too, just because of.

Well yeah this would have to be a limited edition type of box. You couldn't do it any other way.

I want old school, VINYL ONLY. Make it a true singles box set. Limited Edition, Numbered. A True Collector's Item.

ok, i understand your point, but to get a bigger market, vinyl replica to cd must be great, as another bands did

Absolutely, why would you buy vinyls to replace your vinyls? It's like buying every "new" best of the doors that comes out to "replace" your other doors best-ofs. The singles box-set must be released on CD as well, vinyl only is a terrible idea.

Why would you buy CD's to replace your CD's? No matter what they do you're going to buy something you already own music wise. SOOOOO, if that's the case why not make it a TRUE singles collection and go vinyl? Your argument makes ZERO sense.

Although I dont care about this singles collection at all, id have to agree with Pats Radio. I mean all the singles are just edited versions of some of their best songs, and im sure most Doors fans would already own the album versions of most of the singles. So buying a singles collection on CD would just a greatest hits compilation. I think that the only way a CD release would be to include the B-sides along with the singles. So i think a vinyl collection work better.

But having CD and Vinyl releases would be the best option.

I'm sorry pal, but YOUR argument makes no sense as nearly all of the single edit versions of the Doors songs have NEVER been released on CD format, specifically Tree Trunk has NEVER been issued on CD in any version, so why are you wasting your time arguing with me here over nothing?

Why would you want cut songs? I don't want edit versions on CD. Your missing the point. Singles should be on Vinyl only. I want them to be released how they were back then not today. If they want to release b-sides and other rare stuff than we can wait for another rarities CD. This is a totally different project, Pal.
