Hollywood Bowl 68 Blu Ray re-edt and companion CD

The Doors quietly purchased the New Orleans / final performance show and since it includes "Riders on the Storm" and other LA Woman material it's going to be the 40th anniversary release. Of course it's a soundboard show given the Botnick treatment and comes with a thick booklet filled with new photos of the LA Woman recording sessions.
Pure speculation but I'm bored at work and would rather spend time in my fantasy world...it's so much better here.

Also.........what year was LA Woman released??
Howdy Jeff,
Thanks!
A few questions:
Will Hollywood Bowl be remixed for CD (complete unedited) as well?
What month will the Matrix box set be released?
So if a deluxe L.A. Woman is coming, what might we expect as bonus material?
a) 1970s Quad mix?
b.) Paris Blues outtake from partially erased compact cassette?
c) Robby's home demos with Jim?
d) Alternate takes?
e) Master takes with alternate scratch vocals?
f) Do any of the tracks later issued on Other Voices contain an unreleased Morrison Scratch Vocal (e.g. Down on the Farm etc)
g) New Orleans 1970 with live rendition of Riders on The Storm?

Agreed and also a live version of L.A. Woman.
A comprehensive booklet with interviews with the guys and Bruce and Marc Benno and Jerry Scheff. Also what it was like mixing it without Jim.
Loads of unseen photos and documents.
Some reviews from when it came out.
Any audio from the times, radio spots etc if they exist.
A DVD with music vids and some interviews. There is the LAW and Changeling vids and CKS Australian footage. Could we get a kick ass ROTS vid?
Basically go all out on this one Jeff.

It's a while since I've posted.
Anyway, you've given us some promising news Jeff. In regards to the HB release, I have a suggestion. I suspect if the existing multi-tracks were considered unfit for release without edits/overdubs in the 80s, The Doors might still feel the same way and prefer only to use a "doctored" soundtrack. As is our way, I suspect a lot of Doors fans would be disappointed if we get only the doctored soundtrack like the one on the existing releases for this. If it is the case that The Doors don't want to release this with chunks of vocals or music missing, as a compromise, would you consider releasing two soundtracks on the Blu-Ray/DVD so that we get the original (i.e. doctored) soundtrack and the undoctored soundtrack. It's not ideal but it would be possible to patch the soundtrack or even fly-in the vocals from the AUD tape. (I realise this would also be a doctored soundtrack but I think my point is valid.)
I've been waiting for Apple to release a Beatles at Shea Stadium '65 set like this. The original soundtrack to that is a hatchet job. In this case, I'd prefer just the undoctored soundtrack but I'd happily take both if it meant we get access to the original. It's rather like the Hitchcock Vertigo DVD that's available in Australia. It has only the 5.1 sountrack. I want to hear the original mono soundtrack, even if it's not in great shape.
Anyway, looking forward to what you do with the HB and the thought of an LA Woman deluxe edition/40th anniversary edition is quite exciting. Pleae keep in mind that we have a lot of versions of LA Woman already so please try to jam it full of good stuff: single mixes/edits, any live stuff you've got, and outtakes you've got (that blues track that's only available on iTunes)...anything!

- April 2011: LA Woman (original album release April 1971)
- July 2011: Hollywood Bowl (original concert July 5, 1968)
- Fall 2011: Complete Matrix recordings
In an interview Robby gave in January 2011, he eluded to an anniversary version of LA Woman, but didn't give any details about what would be included. Also, Robby said they had "scraped the bottom of the barrel" regarding the BMA live releases.

I hope they can release the complete "Spanish Caravan" if possible. Appreciate the remastering crew's efforts.
I know in the NY Felt Forum CDs where an 8-track master section was missing, they inserted live 2-track. Not sure if they have live 2-track with HB.
The "Hello I Love You" from the concert will be a welcome addition. It is an excellent rendition.
Thanks, Jeff !!!!

A pale comparison in fidelity, but the only proof of what was exactly performed that night and sound mix in the venue. Useful when you think of all the nip/tuck work the show got in the 1980's.
